There are 2 primary groups
that I am working with at the present time. The first is my quartet which
features the legendary pianist Harold Mabern, my longtime associate Joe
Farnsworth on drums, and John Webber, Peter Washington, or Nat Reeves on the
bass. This group has been together for about 6 years and we have played and
toured extensively in the U.S., Japan, Europe, and South America. We have
released some seven recordings on the Milestone and Alfa (Japan) labels. We
have a great rapport both musically and personally and truly enjoy performing
with one another.
The other group that I perform with regularly is the sextet One For All. This
group features Joe on drums, Peter on bass, David Hazeltine on piano, Steve
Davis on trombone, and Jim Rotondi on trumpet. We've recorded 8 albums
together on the Sharp 9, Criss Cross, and Venus (Japan) labels. In many ways
I see this group becoming more and more important in each of our careers as
we move into the future.
